GAH!!!
I have a penchant for people dancing with pigeons perched on some part of their body (a la Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya- the last time I sound HIM attractive) and am currently in love. While I thought that Sakina (and Sonam in general) lacked grace, and-on an aside- I agree with Bhansali that Saawariya was a film he made out of a stage production, I thoroughly enjoyed the dancing pigeon.
Sonam has grown on me
She’s definitely not my favorite- and I don’t sympathize with her “traditional” approach to choosing films (i.e. roles to fit my image, no movies with more than one lead actress, scripts were too women orientated (?!?!?), let daddy decide etc.) but she is…cute. Also, she’s a natural in front of the camera and likes to make a fashion statement, even if she tried too hard sometimes.
She would also be the PERFECT Emma (Jane Austen)- which is a bit of a back-handed comment but she herself has expressed a desire to do something of the sort. MR. KNIGHTLY!!!! Who would be the perfect Mr. Knightly? She’s lucky in the sense that Knightly is 16 years older than Emma in the novel- opening her options up to the likes of, well, Shahrukh, Aamir and Salman (almost exactly). I know she has a thing for Salman, but if he ends up being Mr. Knightly, I swear to God, I will personally arrange a boycott. Shahrukh may be the more charming but what is Knightly about if not honestly and criticism…
Ring any bells…?
I would literally cry in happiness if that happened, CRY in HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Errrrrr…Overall, Dilli 6 looks like an interesting movie. Yeah.
ALSO
HEY!!! I’m actually looking foreword to this one!!!
Although, that could be because a) I’m drawn to Deepika Padukone-She has amazing screen presence; really, she lights up the screen. While I agree that she is not as conventionally pretty as Sonam is, her almost masculine beauty places her at an equal level as her male costars in …strength. There is just something about her; or b) after growing up in a city that’s 70% Asian- I’m more comfortable around anything Asian than…saaaaay Desi (seriously).
Either way, I LIKE IT!!!!
Congrats to Mr. Aamir Khan for the monumental successs of Ghajini- I love him and his work and his integrity. He’s one of the only actors who works from his heart- and that, more than anything else, is why his movie do well. You can always tell when someone puts their heart into an effort.
TOODLES!
